The activation profile section fields disappear once I click the save button, why?

Ans: yes, that is why you have to fill in the forms with accurate details, and also cross check your input before clicking the save changes button, because once you type something in the field and click save changes you can no longer edit that field until it passes our verification process, and wrong inputs can delay your account from being verified.
